Republicans are reacting to Donald Trump’s anointing of North Carolina Republican Party chair Michael Whatley as the next Chair of the Republican National Committee. Whatley’s tenure as state GOP chair has not been free of internal strife, as last summer’s state convention demonstrated. Perhaps Whatley will convince the national GOP to avoid future scenarios such as the deliberate expulsion of New York congressman George Santos, a flawed candidate who nonetheless was elected and held a vote on the Republican roster. More than 100 Republicans joined Democrats to remove Santos, setting up last Tuesday’s special election on Long Island, which resulted in a decisive victory by the Democrat’s candidate against an unknown Republican.
North Carolina’s U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis’ unbridled support for unlimited U.S. funding for Ukraine in its regional conflict with Russia continues to demonstrate that Tillis is not serious about the Fed’s spending problem. Tillis sides with the Biden regime in backing mammoth spending bills that tie U.S. border security to global conflicts.
The Biden administration’s response to a U.S. House that staunchly rejects more Ukraine funding (after at least $75 billion allocated to date) is a threat to trigger the mass release of illegal aliens inside the homeland currently detained by ICE agents.
Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve continues to push an Alice In Wonderland economy, ignoring the Common Man CPI index that lags wage gains by at least seven percent.
There is good news as this week comes to a close. Independent journalists have unleashed revelations about the Trump-Russia narrative hatched in 2015-16 that show how a weaponized intelligence community battered all of its guard rails to create the illusion that Trump’s candidacy and presidency were compromised by Russian influence. It was pure fiction.
