The Shining City on the Hill is a beacon once more, despite the relentless effort by a corrupt media to vilify Donald Trump and millions of Americans as fascist piles of rotting garbage.
Election Day 2024 was, in fact, too big to rig. More than 76 million voters, including Democrats, black men, Asian Americans, and Hispanic Americans, rose in defiance of four years of managed decline led by a Deep State-run White House. At the same time, this election cycle delivered a death blow to cable TV news organizations and solidified the influence of independent media on streaming and social media channels. (Nice knowing you, Rachel Maddow). In the days since November 5, CNN and MSNBC have hemorrhaged viewers who aren’t coming back.
And, as expected, Trump has taken not so much as one day off, quickly turning his attention to unveiling a roster of unapologetic MAGA Republicans, including Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) for attorney general (photo nearby), to fill a pro-active cabinet during his second term. Meanwhile, in the U.S. Senate, outgoing Republican overlord Mitch McConnell rushed to impose an immediate vote for a Republican Senate leader, resulting in a secret ballot triumph by South Dakota Sen. John Thune.
Thune has rarely expressed enthusiasm for another Trump presidency. In fact, he told a South Dakota television news anchor that he was hoping for “another option”. Thune also repeated the false narrative that Trump “disrupted the peaceful transfer of power” in January 2021. Thune is McConnell’s revenge.
Among Trump’s first appointees was another South Dakotan, Gov. Kristi Noem. She has been named to lead the Department of Homeland Security. The Federalist John Daniel Davidson posted a rebuke of the choice. He doesn’t like Noem’s record (she caved into the trans lobby, he writes), but he also thinks Trump should eliminate the position by abolishing the DHS once and for all.
In addition to delivering a team of unwavering MAGA lieutenants, Trump is pledging to carry out a thorough overhauling of the U.S. education system, from K-12 public schools to colleges and universities, by pulling back federal funding on which the status quo relies.
